About us and our people

Key Travel specialise in the travel management for Humanitarian, Faith & Academic customers. Since 1980 we have grown from a small UK based operation to a Global TMC with offices in the UK, USA and Europe.

We are a diverse business and our values are at the heart of what we do – Working hard for our customers, priding ourselves on innovation to drive our business forward.

We invest in our people with not only personal development plans but by also providing some great benefits, incentives, perks and social events.

Key Travel committed to help our Charity of the Year ‘Village by Village’ build a new school for the small Ghanaian village of Obom. In December 2016 three of our US staff and five from the UK embarked on an incentive trip to see first hand the great work being carried out by the charity. With none of the group having volunteered before, they set off with a sense of excitement and unsure of what to expect…

Our Values & our IIP Award

Our customers strive to make an impact on people's lives with every action they take. We enable them to achieve their goals. We strive to ensure all of our work makes a positive impact for our customers, our organisation and our people.

Our customers show compassion as they support, heal and educate people around the world. We show compassion when we consider the needs of our customers in every booking and interaction as well as in every process, product, system and service development we provide.

Our customers' work is complex and in many cases seems impossible. Our role is to simplify their travel, by removing some complexity from the lives of their travellers and their organisations. We make things simple for our own people, enable them to make the biggest impact on our customers.

Investors In People - Bronze

Key Travel is the only organisation in our industry sector with a Bronze Investors In People (IIP) Award – a step-up from the Standard Award we have held since 2003. The Bronze IIP Award is a mark of excellence for championing best practice initiatives for driving high performance through our employees on a global scale.

“I had previously worked in travel but ultimately I was looking for something more rewarding and within moments of walking in for my interview at Key Travel I knew this was the place. Key Travel is somewhere where you are professionally rewarded for having the right attitude and drive for success and also has a very strong culture of giving back. I am extremely proud of our work with Village by Village in Ghana and all the charity initiatives Key Travel is part of. I joined as a travel consultant and, fast forward a couple of years, I am now head of the Academic Travel Department. I love working for a company that sees your skills and helps you grow and develop. This more than a job for me, it is a place where I am recognised, supported and listened to and ultimately it is a very exciting place to work."

Head of Academic Travel

"Coming from the automotive industry I wanted to try a new sector, and I have had no regrets! It’s been great to be made to feel so at home in a genuinely supportive team. The environment here is very special I can see my colleagues and teams embodying our 3 core values Compassion, Anticipation and Clarity, we twin this with a pro-active, can-do attitude to problems, solutions and actions. The days are busy and varied which I thrive on. In my time here I have already learnt so much and am given opportunities to continuously grow and improve myself and Key Travel."

Human Resources Advisor

"In my 3 and a half years at Key Travel I have been able to progress from being a reservations agent to team manager and to move from operations to sales as an account manager. My journey is a true testament to the environment here at Key Travel where hard workers are always given opportunities to grow and we are actively supported in our professional growth. In my 14 years in the travel industry I have never come across such a compassionate and supportive team."

Fiona Drury
Account Manager

My name is Ernesto and I am the Team Manager for the Hudson Team at Key Travel. Our team takes care of all the travel requirements for institutions such as University College London or Birmingham City University. I started my career at Key Travel as a Business Travel Consultant on September 2017, after 6 months with the company I was selected to run a pilot on the biggest contract signed by the company until that date. The pilot was really successful and I became an Assistant Team Manager for a brand new team. In August 2018 I took care of the team covering my manager in his absence and in October I became officially the Team Manager for the Hudson Team. Key Travel has given me the opportunity of growing very fast in my career. My managers have always identified my strengths and helped me to improve supporting me with training and making sure that I have access to all the tools needed to achieve success. What I like about Key Travel is how focused the company is on the well-being of it's employees. We work in small teams that allow us to be very close to each other, almost like a small family, we work in a multicultural company with people from all sorts of backgrounds and nationalities which help each one of us to grow not only professionally but personally creating a work environment where the respect to each other cultures, the diversity and the equality are our top priorities. Key Travel is a fast-growing company that believes on its own work-force and offers equal opportunities to all their employees, supporting those that show an interest to grow as a professional within the company. I am the actual testimony for all of this.
